How to Connect
Setup Guide
Connect your inbox in 5 minutes
MailMaster connects to Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo, iCloud — and any email provider — using App Passwords. No data leaves your device.
What is an App Password?
An App Password is a special 16-character code your email provider generates for third-party apps. It gives MailMaster access to your email without sharing your real password. You can revoke it at any time in your account settings.
Gmail
Requires 2-Step Verification to be enabled
- Go to myaccount.google.com
- Click Security in the left sidebar
- Under “How you sign in to Google”, click 2-Step Verification (enable it if not already on)
- Scroll down to App passwords and click it
- Under “Select app” choose Mail — under “Select device” choose Other and type “MailMaster”
- Click Generate — copy the 16-character code
- In MailMaster: Add Account → Gmail → paste your email + the App Password (not your real Gmail password)
Outlook / Microsoft 365 / Hotmail
Hotmail, Live.com, Outlook.com, and Microsoft 365 accounts
- Go to account.microsoft.com
- Click Security at the top
- Click Advanced security options
- Under “App passwords”, click Create a new app password
- A 16-character password will be shown — copy it immediately (only shown once)
- In MailMaster: Add Account → Outlook/IMAP → paste your email + the App Password
Note for Microsoft 365 (work accounts): Your IT admin may need to enable app passwords for your organisation. If the option isn’t visible, contact your IT department.
iCloud / Apple Mail
@icloud.com, @me.com, @mac.com addresses
- Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in
- Under “Sign-In and Security”, click App-Specific Passwords
- Click the + (plus) icon
- Name it “MailMaster” and click Create
- Your App Password appears — copy it (it won’t be shown again)
- In MailMaster: Add Account → Apple Mail / IMAP → paste your @icloud.com address + the App Password
Requires 2FA: Apple requires two-factor authentication to be enabled before you can create App-Specific Passwords. You can enable it at appleid.apple.com.
Yahoo Mail
@yahoo.com addresses
- Go to account.yahoo.com
- Click Security
- Under “Generate app password”, select Other app from the dropdown
- Name it “MailMaster” and click Generate
- Copy the 16-character password shown
- In MailMaster: Add Account → Yahoo / IMAP → paste your Yahoo address + the App Password
ProtonMail, Fastmail, Zoho & custom domains
Any provider that supports IMAP/SMTP
- Log in to your email provider’s account settings
- Find Security → App Passwords (exact wording varies by provider)
- Generate a password for MailMaster
- In MailMaster: Add Account → IMAP/SMTP → enter your email address, the App Password, and your IMAP/SMTP server settings from your provider
Need your IMAP settings? They’re usually in your provider’s help centre under “IMAP access” or “Set up email client”. Common: port 993 (IMAP SSL), port 587 (SMTP TLS).
